EPI Talks: Seen, Heard, and Cared For: Where Epilepsy Meets Identity | Building Affirming Spaces and Open Doors for all in the Epilepsy Clinic
About This Webinar
Description
This EPI Talk explores the overlap of epilepsy care and gender-affirming care, highlighting the unique clinical, pharmacologic, and psychosocial considerations for transgender and gender-diverse individuals, including the interplay between gender-affirming hormone therapy and antiseizure medications. Drawing on her Epilepsy Currents article, "Inclusivity in Epilepsy Care: Navigating the Complex Nature of Seizure Disorders in People Undergoing Gender-Affirming Care," Sasha Alick-Lindstrom, MD, MPH, will share practical guidance and best practices to support inclusive, patient-centered care. Moderated by Shilpa Klocke, PharmD, BCPS.
