Drs. Emily Johnson and Rodrigo Zepeda will lead a discussion about the intersections of epilepsy, sexual orientation, and gender identity related to clinical care. The discussion will focus on strategies and challenges in this rapidly changing area.

Objectives

At the end of this webinar, attendees should be able to:

Discuss principles of inclusivity in epilepsy care
Describe opportunities in the epilepsy history and care pathway for inclusive care
Identify strategies for choosing appropriate antiseizure medications in gender-diverse people with epilepsy

Presenters

Emily Johnson, MD, MPH

Dr. Emily Johnson is a clinical researcher in adult epilepsy focusing on epidemiology and special populations. She is an associate professor at Johns Hopkins school of medicine.

Rodrigo Zepeda, MD

Dr. Rodrigo Zepeda is a clinical epileptologist with an interest in medical education. He is an associate professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
