Presenter:

Kristin Seaborg, MD, is a fellow in Child Neurology at the University of Wisconsin, a board-certified pediatrician, and a patient with epilepsy. Dr. Seaborg was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy at the age of 18 and had a right temporal lobectomy in 2003 in the midst of her pediatric residency. Her memoir about living with epilepsy, entitled "The Sacred Disease: My Life with Epilepsy," was published by the Gravity Imprint of Booktrope publishing in 2015. After over ten years of practicing primary care pediatrics, Dr. Seaborg decided to return to training in Child Neurology at the University of Wisconsin. She hopes that her perspective as both a patient and physician living with epilepsy will help to educate other providers about some of the unique challenges faced by patients with epilepsy.
